History
On the 16th Day of September AS XLI (2006), at the Gathering of the Guilds, Scholar Adair MacDermid, sponsored by Provost Owain Cantor ap Hughe, did play his Free Scholar's Prize in single rapier. The candidate was examined by Guildmasters Dameon Greybeard, Silfren the Singer, Henry Fox, Francois Henri Guyon and ibn Jelal. Upon due consideration, the examiners agreed that the Scholar had successfully played the Prize and did advance him to the rank of Free Scholar.
On the 6th Day of April AS XLI (2007), at Rowany Festival, Free Scholar Adair MacDermid, sponsored by Provost Owain Cantor ap Hughe, did play his Journeyman's Prize in the following weapons: Rapier; Rapier and Baton; and Rapier and Dagger. The candidate was examined by Journeyman Donncadh Baillie, Journeyman Emrys Tudur, Journeyman William de Cameron and Guildmaster Silfren the Singer. Following due consideration, his examiners did conclude that the Free Scholar had successfully played the Prize and did acknowledge and elevate him to the rank of Journeyman
On the 19th Day of September AS XLIV (2009), at the Gathering of the Guilds, Journeyman Adair MacDermid, sponsored by Guildmaster Owain Cantor ap Hughe, did play his Provost's Prize in the forms of Rapier; Rapier and Dagger; Rapier and Buckler; Rapier and Baton; and Case of Rapier. The candidate was examined by Provost Don Diccon Shorthand, Guildmaster Don Henry Fox and Ancient Guildmasters Don Dameon Greybeard and Don Francois Henri Guyon. As a courtesy from the Guild and in acknowledgment of the Journeyman's rank as Squire, the candidate also was tested by his liege lord, Count Sir Stephen Aldred. After due discussion and consideration, the examiners did agree that the candidate had successfully played the Prize and he was elevated to the rank of Provost.
