Lucius Cornelius Gordianus

 

Lucius Cornelius Gordianus formely Gordon of Darton or Gordon Von Schadenfreuder.  

Needs regular exercise and enrichment particularly by being allowed to fence. Part of his self care is regular cut and thrust exercises.  

He has been known to run backwards faster than people chasing him running forward.

Upon Saturday the 21st of April, Market Day at Rowany Festival AS LII (2018), Gordon of Darton, henceforth known as Lucious Cornelius Gordanius, being invited by the body of Guildmasters, did play his Guildmasters Prize in the following forms.
His first form was a public lesson in Stringere as taught by three Italian masters, Ridolfo Capo Ferro, Nicoletto Giganti, and Salvator Fabris. The candidate did then appear upon the field for examination. In Single Rapier his examiners were Guildmasters Henry Fox, Francois Henri Guyon, and Owain Cantor ap Hugh. Sword and Buckler was contested using the Cut and Thrust Rules and the candidate was examined by Guildmasters Angus Galbraith, Caleb Adolphous, and Dameon Greybeard. Longsword was also contested using the Cut and Thrust Rules and the candidate was again examined by Guildmasters Angus Galbraith, Caleb Adolphous, and Dameon Greybeard. Returning to the Rapier Rules the candidate was then examined in the form of Rapier and Cloak by Guildmasters Owain Cantor ap Hugh, Francois Henri Guyon, and Henry Fox. Case of Rapier was examined by Guildmasters Henry Fox, Angus Galbraith, and Caleb Adolphous. Finally the form of Rapier and Dagger was examined by Guildmasters Owain Cantor ap Hugh, Francois Henri Guyon, and Henry Fox, and the Lord Guildmaster Emrys Tudor.
The collected Guildmasters did then consider the candidate in private conference  and declared that the prize was most decisively won.  The candidate was presented upon the field with the black sash of the Lord Guildmaster Emrys Tudor, who had previously received the sash from Guildmaster Táriq ibn Jelal ibn Ziyadatallah al-Naysábúrí.
 

ASxxxxvi 2012 

Adib ibn Jelal, Guildmaster of Fence, sponsored Journeyman Gordon of Darton, to play his Provost Prize against all Provosts and Guildmasters at these weapons,viz Rapier; Rapier and Dagger, Rapier and Cloak; Case of Rapier; and
Longsword. Said Journeyman was examined by Provost Marcos de Valencia, Provost Sir Haos Windchaser, Provost Don Giles Leabrook, Provost Don Diccon Shorthand, Guildmaster Dona Silfren the Singer, Guildmaster Don Angus Galbraith, Guildmaster Don Caleb Adolphus and Guildmaster Owain Cantor ap Hughe.  After due consideration, his examiners did decide that the Prize had been achieved, and did elevate Gordon to the rank of Provost.  

ASxxxxv 2011 

Maestro ibn Jelal, Guildmaster of Fence, did give leave and licence to Our Journeyman Gordon of Darton, to play his Provost Prize against all Provosts and Guildmasters in their subtle mystery at these weapons, viz single
sword, rapier & dagger, longsword, case of swords and rapier & cloak. Said Journeyman was present upon the field at Fencing Fest 2011, and was examined by Provost Giles Leabrook, Provost Don Donnchadh Baillie, Guildmaster Don Caleb
Adolphus and Guildmaster Owain Cantor ap Hughe. After due consideration, his examiners did decide that the Prize had not been achieved. 

AS XXXXIV February the 3rd 2010 at Canterbury Fair: 

Lord Guildmaster Silfren the Singer did give leave and licence so that Gordon von schadenfreuder did play his Journeyman's Prize on the field at Canterbury Fair in the following weapons, viz: single rapier, rapier and dagger, and rapier and baton. These are to give notice that Gordon play his prize against Thomas of Darton, Maree de Cautey, Diego Alonzo Moreno, Hugh de Calais and Benedict of Askrig,  and was found worthy of admission to the rank of Journeyman within the Royal Guild of Defense. 

Scholar Gordon of Darton, sponsored by Provost Luan an Fael, did play his Free Scholar's Prize in the form of Single Rapier in ASXXXXII (2008). The candidate was examined by Free Scholar Emilio de Batista, Journeymen Maree de Cauty and Benedict of Askerigg, and Provosts Baron Alessandro von Florenz and William de Cameron. The examiners did agree that the candidate had successfully played the Prize and did acknowledge and elevate him to the rank of Free Scholar. 

On the 7th day of April  A.S. XLVI (2012) at Rowany Festival XXX, Siridean II and Margie I of Lochac did induct Lucius Cornelius Gordianus into the Order of the Rapier. 

On the 22nd day of April  A.S. LII (2018) at Rowany Festival XXXVI, Rowland I and Tailltiu I of Lochac did induct Lucius Cornelius Gordianus into the Order of Defence.
